Dalgona Coffee Hot or Cold is a whipped sweet coffee served on top of hot or ice cold milk. I’m more of a tea drinker…..but this coffee is AMAZING.

The Greeks and Italians go crazy for iced coffee and it’s a lovely alternative to hot coffee on a summers day if you like coffee, Today in Northern Ireland it was on the cooler side and I decided to have a hot coffee.

This coffee will take minutes to make and you will have the ingredients already if you are a coffee drinker.

You simply need instant coffee (Needs to be instant to be able to whip – I find Nescafe works well), Granulated Sugar, Boiling Hot Water and Milk.

Lets Make our Dalgona Coffee Hot or Cold!

Firstly to make your Dalgona Coffee Hot or Cold, heat 160ml of milk in a saucepan until hot. If you decide to have a cold Dalgona coffee then simply take the milk out of the fridge and put it straight in to your glass.

Frothy Topping!

In a mixing bowl add in 2 tbsp of instant coffee, granulated sugar and boiling hot water. Next take your stand mixer or electric whisk and whip up the coffee mixture until it is a very light golden colour.

This process will take you around five minutes using a stand mixer at full speed or a little longer with an electric whisk.

Finally take your milk and place it in your cup of choice (I love a glass coffee cup for these). Fill the glass 3/4 full . Using a teaspoon place some of the whipped coffee on top of the milk. Stir well and enjoy!

Although I haven’t tried it yet I believe if you like your Dalgona Coffee Hot then to have an extra indulgent coffee you can add in Bailey’s! I’m defintely going to try this one soon!

I have lot’s of recipes over on my Facebook page so please take a look if you have liked this one!

Prep Time: 7 minutes
Servings: 1 Cup

  • 2 tbsp Coffee
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Boiling hot water
  • 180 ml Hot or ice cold milk

  • Measure out milk and heat in a saucepan or pour it straight from the fridge if having it cold.
  • Into a bowl put the coffee, sugar and hot water. Using a stand mixer or electric whisk, whip up the coffee mix until it is a really light golden colour. This takes 5 minutes using a stand mixer at full speed, and a little longer when using an electric whisk at highest speed. You CAN use a normal whisk but your arm WILL fall off 🤣
  • Use a teaspoon to scoop the whipped coffee on top of the milk. Stir very well. Enjoy!
